Hannah Berner's stand-up tour has moved on from New York, and her Carnegie Hall date is now in the past. If you missed it, the good news is that the hall on Seventh Avenue at 57th Street has a busy fall calendar. Comedy, pop, jazz and classical shows are all coming up in the weeks ahead.

Carnegie Hall opened in 1891 and is still one of the most famous stages in the world. The main room, the Isaac Stern Auditorium, seats about 2,800 people across five levels. It is known for acoustics that carry an unamplified voice to the top balcony. Smaller shows play in Zankel Hall below street level and in the intimate Weill Recital Hall.

This season's highlights show how wide the range has become. Mac DeMarco plays two nights in late October, and Branford Marsalis shares the stage with Dianne Reeves for an evening of jazz. The cast of Falsettos returns for a 10-year anniversary concert, and the bluegrass virtuosos Punch Brothers arrive in early November. Classical fans can catch pianist Yunchan Lim and a visiting Columbus Symphony Orchestra, and Richard Dawkins brings a spoken-word evening to the hall.

Planning a visit? Arrive early: security lines on 57th Street can be long on sold-out nights. The upper balconies are steep but offer some of the best sound in the house. Several subway lines stop within two blocks (N/Q/R/W at 57th St–7th Ave), and there are plenty of pre-show dinner spots around Midtown.

You can see the full schedule, seating chart and prices for upcoming shows on our Carnegie Hall tickets page. Popular dates, especially the weekend concerts, tend to sell out, so it pays to book early.
